BetterVideo enhances video — nothing more. We are not an advertising company, a data broker, or an AI lab building a training set. The less we keep, the better the product works for the people who use it. This page describes, factually, how your footage is handled. It is a description of our practices, not a legal or regulatory certification.
The journey of one video
- In transit. Uploads, downloads, and every API call run over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
- Processing. Each job runs in an isolated, short-lived GPU worker that pulls your video, enhances it, writes the result, and tears down. Your content is not used for anything other than producing your result.
- At rest. Original and enhanced files are stored in encrypted object storage, namespaced per account, and reachable only through short-lived, signed download links — never public.
- Deletion. Files are automatically deleted after your retention window (30 days by default, configurable). You can also delete any job's files on demand at any moment via the API or dashboard.
What we never do
- We never train AI on your content. Your videos are not added to any training set, ours or anyone else's.
- We never sell or share your content. No data brokers, no advertising networks, no third-party "partners."
- We don't keep what we don't need. We retain a video only as long as your retention window — then it's gone.
Proof of deletion (Secure tier)
On the Secure tier, deleting a job returns a signed deletion certificate — a tamper-evident receipt stating that the original and enhanced files for that job were permanently removed, with the job ID, timestamp, and an HMAC-SHA256 signature only we can produce. You can hand it to your own client or auditor as evidence the footage was destroyed. The Secure tier also exposes a per-account audit event log.
Access & account controls
- API keys. Access is by secret bearer key. Keys can be revoked instantly, and live (billable) access is gated by manual approval during early access. Sandbox keys run a free mock lane with no access to real data.
- Rate limits are applied per key to contain abuse.
- Input controls. Source videos are fetched only from public web addresses; requests that resolve to internal or private network addresses are rejected.
- Your visibility. The dashboard shows your usage, charges, and payment history; you control retention and can delete on demand.
Payments
All card processing is handled by Stripe. Card details are entered and managed on Stripe's own secure pages — BetterVideo never sees or stores your card number.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use a small set of established providers to run the service. Your content is only ever handled to deliver enhancement:
- Supabase — encrypted file storage, database, and account authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing (card data handled entirely by Stripe).
- Modal (primary) and Lambda (fallback) — on-demand GPU compute that performs the enhancement.
We do not sell or disclose your content to anyone outside of providing the service.
